The party upon returning to Cirencester was introduced by a group of the “One True God” who were marching and chanting down the street. Not totally sure what to do with the group and knowing that they had business else where, they instead moved around the “cult” to the destinations. Crom excused himself and went to meet with Caractacus, while Cainrin, Firaccas, and Tallulah went to visit Severn in the mayor’s office.
Tallulah stayed outside of the office, while Cainrin and Firaccas made their way inside. Once inside they proceeded to explain to Severn what they had experienced. Leaving out some details and focusing on what they learned. Severn wasn’t pleased with just rumors and asked for physical proof. They said they didn’t have any and wouldn’t get any and they left.
Meanwhile, Crom meet with Caractacus.
After meeting with their various patron’s the party ended up back at The Root Cellar, their old stomping grounds. Quigby, the owner, was happy to see them, if a bit scattered. While sitting there discussing what had transpired and determining their next moves, the party was approached by a rogue who starting buying them drinks and asking questions about Bibury. Crom was asked to investigate if Derek, an assassin the group had meet in Bibury, was in town.
Right after he left the party heard shouts right outside of The Root Cellar. When they went outside to investigate they found town guards attempting to disperse One True Godders. Quickly, before the group could do anything, two fiery explosions ripped through the One True God group killing many on impact and leaving many more burnt and burning.
Crom instantly started to investigate the scene, half of the guards started to help the One True God people and the other half looked around for a culprit. And seeing Firaccas they found one. Confronted by 10 guards while attempting to put the fire out, Firaccas, Dirk and Cainrin where taken prisoner as Tallulah bolted and easily escaped captured.
Tallulah finally made her way back to The Root Cellar where she waited to hear information from the rest of the group. Crom went about investigating. Dirk, Cainrin, and Firaccas, after surrendering to the guards ended up in jail. A jail which was easy for Dirk to leave, given his affiliations. After breaking the jail’s lock, grabbing the other’s gear, and making small talk with the guard, Dirk made his way back to The Root Cellar to report to Tallulah what had happened. They decided to wait until the next day, even though the idea of a jail break had crossed their mind.
The next morning Severn approached Cainrin and Firaccas and made them a simple offer. Go back to Bibury and get the physical proof he demanded or be publicly executed. Thinking that they liked were their heads where, they agreed to go back to Bibury and even offered to bring a guard along with them.
They then prepared to return to Bibury. Crom returned after being gone for the night to join them. Dirk offered to accompany them as well, but not before he needed to get a horse. They met the two guard who would accompany them. Corowa, a heavily hooded woman, and Gwynn, a heavily armed and armored human male.
The group, Dirk, Cainrin, Firaccas, Tallaluh, and Crom then headed south to Bibury to find physical proof of what they had discovered. Corowa and Gwynn went with them to ensure they did what they claimed they would do.
The party made it to Bibury without any problems, thanks to Cainrin’s survival skills and Crom’s knowledge of geography. Once in Bibury, Dirk, Crom, and Corowa attempted to sneak into town but Dirk’s presence was discovered when he stepped on a stick. The group then just walked into town and headed right for the Golden Grain Inn. There the barkeep excused himself as quickly as possible, as did the men who were seated inside. Presumably on his way out the barkeep woke up a number of ghouls who started to scratch at the kitchen door. With some quick thinking and prior knowledge of the inn, the group split into two groups and attacked the ghouls from two fronts. After a quick fight with the ghouls, which ended with Cainrin getting diseased and Crom being paralyzed for a short time, the group once again found themselves alone in the Golden Grain Inn with the knowledge that any number of people who didn’t want them around knew where they were.
