After almost being kidnapped, the party themselves took three captives. They then proceeded to check the upstairs of the inn. Mainly it was empty and of little value, but they found Iggy, a captive, who said he was captured and that he was attempting to get back to Silus. The party then split up with the dwarf, cleric, and druid watching the captive, everyone else went ahead and checked the first floor and the cellar. They didn’t find much; some poorly kept records, a kitchen, aprons, and not much more. After returning to the captives they made a deal with one of assassins, his freedom for showing them where the “bad guys” keep their gold. After following the assassin, they found the gold was gone. They also found out that a “snake lady” was charming people and that no one could be trusted. He was able to resist and had been pretending to have been charmed. The party then decided (with a monetary incentive) to take the merchant to Silus. On the way out of the inn the party was ambushed by the local constable and his lackeys. After making quick work of them, they headed to the south. After a day of uneventful travel, they made camp. The next day, Iggy remembered a villa in the area that he wanted to go to. The party didn’t want to go, after much negotiation and pleading from Iggy. The party started to head back to Cirencester, leaving the merchant by himself in the goblin-infested wilds. After hiding out for a day and preparing themselves the party started to head back to Cirencester to report what they had learned.
